When to visit Alcudia
Alcudia is a fairly warm destination all year round; however, it is best visited during the Spring or the Autumn for the most comfortable climate. If the sun and heat don’t bother you, then Summer is ideal but expect large crowds of tourists.
When deciding how long to visit, we recommend one week as a minimum. In order to enjoy all the attractions and find time to relax by the sea, you need more than a few days in this idyllic location. To explore the island further, two weeks is ideal. Longer stays are particularly popular with those booking all-inclusive holiday packages, allowing visitors to enjoy both the resort and the wider island.

What to do in Alcudia
Relax on the beach

Explore the old town
Alcudia’s most popular attraction has to be its charming old town, which is filled with quaint alleyways, narrow streets, and boutique shops and restaurants. Combine this with gorgeous Gothic architecture and the town has a magical yet historic feel.
The town’s ancient city walls are completely preserved, which is fairly unusual for the island. This allows visitors to roam the medieval walls while observing incredible views of the city and the sea.
You can also admire the Church of St Jaume, which is located at the southern tip of the old town. The current church is built on the same grounds as the original church, which sadly collapsed due to poor maintenance in the 19th century.
Visit Alcudia market
One of the busiest and oldest markets in Majorca, Alcudia market is the place to be to get your hands on some fresh produce and souvenirs. Situated within the city walls of the old town, the market takes place every Sunday and Tuesday, from 8 am to approximately 1 pm.
After doing some shopping, consider heading to one of the restaurants in the old town for some authentic Spanish cuisine. Staple dishes include paella, charcoaled meat, fresh fish, and Sobrasada de Mallorca – a type of sausage traditionally produced on the island since the 18th century.
How to get to Alcudia
While Alcudia doesn’t have its own airport, you’re able to fly to Palma De Majorca Airport. Most major UK airlines, including British Airways, easyJet, and Ryanair, have direct flights to Majorca that typically take around 2h 30m.
The airport is located 60 km away from Alcudia and normally takes 57 minutes to get there. While there is the TIB A32 bus that travels directly into Alcudia, it only leaves once every 45 minutes.
If you’re someone who wants to leave the airport as soon as you arrive, a Majorca Airport transfer is the best option. That way, your driver will be waiting for you upon arrival and can easily help you with your baggage.
You may also decide to hire a car from the airport, which makes sense if you are considering visiting other places in Majorca, such as Puerto de Pollensa and Cala Dor.
Where to stay in Alcudia
When it comes to accommodation, Alcudia is unmatched. From family-friendly hotels with kids’ clubs like the Iberostar Ciudad to luxurious four-star resorts reserved for adults like the Astoria Playa, there are plenty of options to suit your preferences.
You’ll also find a good range of private apartments and villas through sites like Airbnb. Just make sure that you choose a location that is close to the attractions or has public transport located nearby. If you’re staying at a hotel, they’ll often happily arrange transport for you when asked.
One thing to keep in mind is whether you want to go all-inclusive or self-catered. While the thought of having unlimited food and drinks served throughout the day can sound enticing to some, you might fancy cooking for yourself some nights and venturing out to one of Alcudia’s top restaurants for the majority of your stay.
