Standing on 3,800 meter above sea level in Cusco, Peru. Admiring Inca heritage sites, Spanish-style cathedrals and Peruvian food – while beating the altitude sickness.
My impression of Helsinki: compact, cultural, clean and cool. I stayed in the city for a few days in winter, yet I found the city was welcoming and charming. Helsinki’s city center is compact and easy to navigate, while tourists could basically go anywhere on foot. Here is a 2-day easy going itinerary of the major attractions in Finland’s Daughter of the Baltic.
The old city center of Malacca is listed as a Unesco Heritage Site with architecture from different cultures, walking through the Melaka Heritage Trail is like “Round the world in one hot day”!
The best way to explore these heritages would be on foot, or, by trishaws…
“Aqui, onde a terra se acaba e o mar começa…” Sometimes an ending of a wonderful thing could be heart wrenching, but at the same time, it could be a new beginning of something wonderful.
An amazing treat in São Jorge Castle, Lisbon. Music is always the best medicine. After the trip I sometimes still go back and immerse into the guitartist’s music world, listening to the recordings and videos on Youtube by other castle visitors. I wondered why on earth this self-taught, civilian master-guitarist is not world famous, and then convinced myself that it was probably for the best to leave such artistic and sensible performance to where it truly belonged.
The Matsuyama experience continues in the beautiful Dōgo Onsen… Ride the classic locomotive, watch the cock tower chimes, shop for great local products, and enjoy a historic japanese hot spring bath experience!
One time I was exploring Hiroshima and ultimately I put Matsuyama and the Togo Onsen (Hotspring) on my itinerary.. If you are looking for something new, I would recommend this city and I had a great expereince!
